Description
Antibacterial VICRYL™ Plus Coated Suture, Size 5-0, Undyed, 18", with P-3 needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of Polyglactin 910. It is manufactured by copolymerizing glycolide and lactide into a braided structure and coating it with a mixture of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate.
This suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation, except for cardiovascular and neurological procedures. The 5-0 size provides moderate tensile strength suitable for skin closure, mucosal repairs, and fine tissue approximation. The 18-inch length offers sufficient reach for short incisions and subcuticular closures.
The P-3 needle is a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle designed for efficient penetration of dense or fibrous tissues such as dermis and fascia. Its reverse cutting edge allows for secure placement with minimal tissue trauma. The suture is packaged sterile and ready for single-use application in operating room environments.
